Located at Shimo-la-Tewa, near Mombasa. Established by the H.Q. 19th A.A. Brigade in July 1942.
At first appears to have been under command of the H.Q. 19th A.A. Brigade, then under local command of H.Q. Nairobi Sub Area.
Moved to Camp 27, Athi River between 23rd and 25th March 1943.
On 1st June 1943, redesignated as the E.A. (Athi River) Artillery Depot and Training Centre, E.A.A.

Presumably given the wind‑down of anti-aircraft artillery in Kenya, from 1st September 1944 (and by December 1944), the Athi River depot became a general depot for all branches of the East African Artillery.
