The 63rd Anti-Tank Battery, W.A.A. appears to have been formed by the re-designation of 'Z' Anti-Tank Battery, W.A.A. by or during July 1944 (and no later than 1st August 1944).  It was formed within the 2nd L.A.A./Anti-Tank Regiment, W.A.A. and was subsequently regimented with the 2nd and then 22nd Anti-Tank Regiments, W.A.A. (the latter from 21st October 1944).  The Commanding Officer was Major W.S. Champness.[1]

From Chas, the Battery went with the 22nd Regiment to Calcutta, leaving on 16th November 1944 and arriving the next day.  On 18th November, the Battery embarked on board the H.M.T. Ratula which sailed for Chittagong, arriving on 21st November.  From here, the Battery went with the Regiment to Chiringa.  It left Chiringa on 29th November for the Bawli area.  The Battery left Bawli for Taungbazar on 17th December and arrived the following morning and set up at Taung Keep.  The Battery left Taung Keep on 31st December.[2]

The Battery went to Buthidaung on 1st January 1945 and served with the 22nd Anti-Tank Regiment, W.A.A. during the operations of the 82nd (W.A.) Infantry Division in the Kaladan Valley. [3]
