‘X’ Anti-Tank Battery, W.A.A.

At Chittagong, in January 1944, the personnel of the 1st L.A.A./Atk Regiment, W.A.A. were reorganised on the basis of two L.A.A. (1st and 4th L.A.A./Atk Batteries) and two anti-tank batteries (the 2nd and an improvised ‘X’ L.A.A./Atk Batteries).  The 2nd Battery received instructions from the Regimental H.Q. on 25th January for the ‘unofficial’ forming of ‘X’ Anti-Tank Battery.[1]

The 'X' Anti-Tank Battery, W.A.A. was disbanded by 1st May 1944, its place being taken in the 1st L.A.A./Atk Regiment, W.A.A. by the 62nd Anti-Tank Battery, W.A.A. on 2nd May 1944.[2]
